Prusament PETG V0 is the one-in-the-world UL-certified self-extinguishing PETG filament. Similar to the regular Prusament PETG, it is a tough material with good thermal resistance. Its use is universal but it is especially suitable for housings and insulating parts in electronics, due to its self-extinguishing properties.
PETG V0 is a unique UL-certified self-extinguishing PETG filament. Similar to the regular Prusament PETG, it is a tough material with good thermal resistance. It has universal use, but is especially suitable for housings and insulating parts in electronics, due to its self-extinguishing properties.
PETG V0 is not prone to warping, so printing large objects isn’t a problem. When our Prusament PETG V0 starts burning, it creates a carbonized crust on the surface that prevents the oxygen from getting in and fueling the flame and eventually extinguishes the fire.
Prusa asked the UL to test the flammability of the Prusament PETG V0. The test method was made according to the IEC 60695-11-10 standard and resulted in a class UL94 V0 (for both their colors). Here’s the Blue Card that serves as a certificate issued by the UL company.

PETG V0 is especially useful for hobby use, where various electronic installations might cause fire hazard.
PETG V0 has insulation properties similar to regular PETG. With UL certification it might help large companies with making rapid prototypes with everything legally sorted out.
The self-extinguishing properties might prove useful also in various machine parts, etc.
This filament needs to be kept as dry as possible as it's more hygroscopic, compared to regular PETG. If you can't keep the filament dry, we suggest drying it before use for 6 hours at 55 °C.
Powder-coated Satin or TXT sheet provides good adhesion. Clean it with IPA (available in drugstores, for example) which works great not only with Prusament PETG V0 but with other materials too.
Pour a small amount of IPA on a paper towel and use it for cleaning the surface. To achieve the best results, clean the surface while it’s cold. Keep in mind that higher temperatures will evaporate the alcohol before cleaning the surface. Also, don’t forget that the heatbed preheated for printing Prusament PETG V0 has a high temperature (80 °C) and may burn you if you touch it! Another possibility is cleaning the surface with warm water and a few drops of dish cleaner on a paper towel. You can also use denatured alcohol.
We don’t recommend printing with Prusament PETG V0 on a smooth PEI sheet. This material adheres strongly to the PEI surface and may cause damage to it. This type of damage is not covered by the warranty. If you need to print on a smooth surface, spread a thin layer of paper glue stick on it.
