What temperature does the PolyDryer achieve?
The 360° drying system creates a temperature distribution inside the PolyDryer™. For that reason, a single temperature can't represent the true situation as it varies around the spool. Other elements like the room temperature, initial moisture content, spool size, and material type and weight also affect the internal temperature of the box. The highest range though is 68-73°C.
Can you sell the PolyDryer dock by itself without the box?
Yes we can! You can now purchase the Polydryer dock individually here
How long is the warranty?
1 year!
Can this hold larger than 1KG spools?
No it cannot - but Polymaker is working on a larger solution!
What color should my desiccants be?
The desiccants will be orange when dry and dark green when wet. If you ordered from the first batch of PolyDryers these colors will be different.
How do I dry the desiccants?
When you notice the most of desiccant has changed color from orange to dark green, then the desiccant has absorbed enough moisture and must be dried. The recommended procedure is as follows:
What would be a good humidity range to see on my hygrometer?
The final state after drying is related to the drying setting, initial moisture content of the material, external environment, etc. The following data are based on an internal experiment by Polymaker and are for reference only.
In an environment of 20°C and 60% RH, using the recommended power level and twice the drying time, PLA, PETG, and PC materials placed in an open environment for 2 weeks were dried.
With power level 1, the final relative humidity was between 20-30%.
With power level 2, it was between 15-25%,
And with power level 3, it was between 10-20%.
The minimum readout on the hygrometer is 10% - it will not display lower than that.
